Conversational Spanish includes being able to ask for directions. It also includes being able to order what you would like out of a menu using complete sentences correctly in Spanish. It also includes being able to tell people a little bit about yourself; such as where you’re from, what your name is, etc.
Not only do you have to know how to say phrases in Spanish, in order to be good at conversational Spanish, you’ll also have to understand what someone is saying to you in Spanish. It doesn’t do any good if you ask for directions to the bathroom but you don’t understand what “down the hall to the left” means in Spanish.
Learning conversational Spanish makes learning Spanish fun. Instead of just doing boring, repetition, conversational Spanish forces you to think. The more interactive your Spanish lessons, the better.
If you have a native Spanish speaker to converse with in Spanish you should take advantage of it as much as you can. Not only do you learn how to ask the questions, but you will also learn how to understand the answers that are given to you.
Learning basic things such as the Spanish alphabet and some vocabulary will be the foundation for being able to move on and learn conversational Spanish. If this isn’t possible, most Spanish training products will allow you to easily practice and become good at conversational Spanish.
